In the true spirit of the Bluewater Festival, we invite you to celebrate and discover our areas treasures, in the inaugural Bluewater Festival Photo Competition.

How does it work?

People from all over are invited to send in their best photographs in digital form. You don’t have to be a pro. You just have to have a keen eye and be able to capture the uniqueness of our local area.

The competition closes on Friday 7th March 2008.

All winners will be contacted and announced in the local newspapers. All received photographs will be posted to the official website of www.bluewaterfestival.org

Prizes! - What you can win

Overall winner will receive a new Fujifilm F50fd digital camera to the value of $600.00, (including a memory card, batteries and a case) and a Darren Jew
printto the value of $350

Two runner up winners each will receive a Darren Jew print and a processing package which includes:

80 prints 6×4
8 x enlargements 6×8
4 x enlargements 8×10.

Eight highly commended prizes each will receive a photo processing package which includes:

40 prints 6×4
4 x enlargements 6×8
2 x enlargements 8×10.

How good is that!

All winning entries will be professionally printed and framed and will be available for sale during the festival.How to enter and Entry conditions:

  • Only digital files will be accepted, do not supply prints
  • Image size recommended for judging purposes: approximately 3 mega pixels (2000 x 1500 pixels) with a maximum .jpg size of 2MB
  • Winners will need to supply their original picture files for printing purposes, to ensure best quality of display prints.
  • Bluewater Festival Committee members are unable to enter the competition.
  • All emails to include: full name, contact details and the location in which each image was taken - Some of this information may be used on the Bluewater Photo Competition website.
  • All entries will be displayed on the Bluewater Festival Website.
  • A maximum of 4 entries per person will be accepted.
  • Prizes must be claimed by 31 May 2008
  • While the photographer retains the copyright of all images submitted as competition entries, The Sandgate & Districts Chamber of Commerce reserve the right to use any of the photos for promotion and advertising for this year’s and future Bluewater Festival competitions.
  • The winning images can be used in The Sandgate & Districts Chamber of Commerce promotion, only if the image is identified as a Winner / Runner up etc of the 2008 Bluewater Photo Competition, and the photographer is acknowledged in the photo credit.
  • The winning entries agree to their entry to be printed by Sandgate Photo Services and that in exchange for their prize grants a license to print and sell one print
  • By entering your images into the Bluewater Photo Competition, you agree to the conditions as stated above.
